The Learning Innovation Centre (LIC) conducted the faculty development workshop “Teaching with AI for Critical Thinking” on 30 October 2026 at the University of Central Punjab (UCP). The workshop is part of UCP’s Institutional AI Readiness initiative. As AI reshapes higher education, institutions need to look well beyond the everyday use of AI tools. This initiative equips faculty to think strategically about AI and to build it thoughtfully into teaching, learning, and assessment. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Mehwish Raza, an AI education specialist working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, pedagogy, and curriculum development. Faculty explored how to embed AI policies into their courses and address AI use from brainstorming to final submission. They also looked at what ethical AI use means in different disciplines, how to approach AI disclosure, and how to rethink assessment. Throughout, the focus remained on preserving critical thinking, original thought, and academic integrity. Participants will now carry these strategies into their own departments and courses, supporting a coordinated approach to AI across UCP’s academic Programmes.
