SPP Cohort I:

The first Student Pedagogy Partnership (SPP) cohort at UCP marks a significant milestone, bringing together 16 dynamic partnerships. Instructors and students from all 9 faculties joined forces in this pioneering journey to redefine education, fostering innovation, inclusivity, and a learner-centered approach.

SPP Orientation Training:

The Student Pedagogy Partnership (SPP) Orientation Training, held on October 4, 2023, was designed to equip our student and faculty partners with the knowledge and skills they need for a successful collaboration in our innovative Student Pedagogy Partnership Program.

Key Highlights:

• Understanding Partnership Ethos: Participants delved into the core ethos of student-faculty partnership, exploring the significance of collaborative efforts in shaping a more engaging and effective learning environment.
• Effective Feedback: The training emphasized the importance of giving and receiving constructive feedback to enhance course design and delivery, helping both students and faculty understand their roles in this essential exchange.
• Exploring Pedagogy: The training provided a comprehensive overview of pedagogy, pedagogical approaches, and teaching methodologies, enabling partners to understand how these concepts are applied in a classroom setting.
• Course Outlines and Rubrics: Participants learned to identify the purpose and structure of course outlines and rubrics. They explored how these documents help instructors stay on track and continuously reflect on their performance.
• Evaluating Rubrics: Partners engaged in a hands-on activity, evaluating course rubrics to distinguish between effective and less effective examples. This exercise allowed them to apply the knowledge gained during the training.
• The SPP Orientation Training was a stepping stone for our partners, setting the stage for a collaborative journey in which they work side by side to enrich the educational experience for all. It provided a solid foundation for productive partnerships in the coming academic year.
