At the Indus Conclave, an engaging panel on Pakistan’s Learning Crisis brought together leading voices in education to discuss how access, quality, and equity continue to shape the nation’s learning landscape.
Ms. Zunaira Khalid-Head, LIC moderated the discussion exploring how the crisis extends beyond statistics, impacting millions of children whose right to education remains unfulfilled.
The session opened with a moving keynote from Dr. Suleman Shahid (Associate Professor, LUMS), who reflected on the human cost of the crisis. Panellists included Baela Raza Jamil (CEO, ITA), who emphasized the importance of implementing Article 25A; Syed Nayab Shah (VP, TCF), who shared insights from TCF’s large-scale reform successes; Dr. Jessica Albrent (Assistant Professor, LUMS), who discussed inclusive learning; and Azam Ali Noon (Director, ARVO), who highlighted EdTech’s transformative potential.
The discussion underscored that while Pakistan continues to face systemic education challenges, a strong community of reformers and educators remains committed to ensuring that learning fulfills its promise as a force for change.
