The Learning Innovation Centre – UCP , in collaboration with the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), successfully organized an engaging workshop on Emotional Intelligence for faculty and staff. The session focused on helping participants better understand themselves and others by exploring the basics of emotions, emotional states and their impact on everyday life and decision-making, along with the four key areas of Emotional Intelligence: Self-Awareness, Self-Regulation, Social Awareness, and Social Regulation. Through interactive discussions and practical reflection activities, participants learned to recognize their emotions and triggers, understand how their emotions influence their behavior and relationships, practice emotional regulation through pausing, conscious breathing and thoughtful responses, and develop greater empathy and awareness of others’ emotional states. The workshop also highlighted stress management, patience, tolerance, resilience, effective communication, and choosing healthier responses to challenging situations, enabling participants to reflect on their own experiences and develop personal action plans for applying Emotional Intelligence in both their professional and personal lives.
